L’Ete Indien, Wimereux

Just along the coast from Calais in France, this site is good place to go if you just want to get out of the UK.  We took the Channel Tunnel and it was an easy journey.   From Calais you head towards Boulougne on the autoroute for about twenty-five minutes.   Go through Wimereux and the site is on the main road just outside of the town.

The Weekend we went the weather was terrible, but the site had a number of Brits all decked out to celebrate the Jubilee. Unfortunately all bunting was looking a bit bedraggled at that time.

The site has a good toilet block and washing up area with hot water and free showers. We struggled to find the bins though – which were near the entrance.  Unfortunately most of the site was empty – with just bedraggled Brits. We were there at the end of the French school holidays so there were not many locals there and so a lot of the facilities were not open. The site does have a lovely swimming pool and a bar, which sells pizza, there is also a lake on site with ducks and other activities although none of these were open at the time.

The site had a lot of statics on it but I think that the owners had gone back to work but there is plenty of room for tents and campers

The site is easy cycling distance from Wimereux, where there are loads of good restaurants and a long sandy beach to walk along.   The weather was so bad that a quick dip in the sea was out of the question however.  We can confirm however that the town has excellent food and a lovely bakery – although being, France, it was shut by the time we thought to go there.

This site is probably fantastic in the summer.   We would definitely stay again, to make full use of the pool and other facilities are available.
